ICE Conference and ENACT plenary meeting – Porto – June 2026

What a Busy Week for the DS4 Team!

From major international presentations to collaborative project milestones, the DS4 team has had an action-packed week. Here is a quick look at what we’ve been up to:

 Presenting at ICE 2026

We kicked off the week at the 32nd Edition of the International Conference on Engineering, Technology and Innovation (ICE).

Thank you Zhilber for presenting our paper, “Risk-Aware Task Allocation Across the Cloud–Edge Continuum.” The presentation took place during the special session SS07 – Dynamic Intelligence and Connectivity in the Edge–Cloud Continuum, which was proudly hosted by the ENACT project.

This paper is a true team effort, reflecting our collaborative work with colleagues from the University of Birmingham and the University of Manchester. Congratulations to Zhilber and Nadia for co-authoring this piece based on our work on the ENACT project!

ENACT Plenary Meeting

Following the conference, we jumped straight into the ENACT plenary meeting. It was a fantastic opportunity to sync up with our partners, where we:

  • Shared updates on our development status and integration progress with other project components.
  • Tackled open issues and mapped out our immediate next steps.

The Countdown is On!

Time is absolutely flying on the ENACT project. With just about 6 months remaining, we still have a lot of exciting work ahead of us.

Despite the rising summer temperatures and everyone’s upcoming holiday plans, the team is more motivated than ever to make the absolute most of these final months!

Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the finish line!

Good bye RoBétArmérs!

Exactly four years ago, we held our first online RoBétArmé project pre-kick-off meeting.  It was followed by the in-person kick-off meeting a month later in Thessaloniki, where the project partners got to know each other and embarked on the challenging journey of building two robot systems to help automate the shotcreting process.

Over the course of four years we communicated regularly with the technical developers and use-case partners, discussed, brainstormed and exchanged ideas, striving to find solutions and overcome various technical complexities, as well as organisational and cultural changes.

And during the final project review this week, the time has come to take a moment to reflect on these four years of hard work and celebrate what has been achieved.

It was a tremendous privilege for the DS4 team to be part of the RoBétArmé project consortium, which brought together a large number of talented, committed, and hardworking professionals.  The transparency, mutual respect, and sheer hard work displayed across the board were nothing short of inspiring.  Not only did we create advanced robotic technology, but we also made friends for life. That is really something special.

Thank you RoBétArmérs!
